Ibukun Akinnawo is a tech professional passionate about helping people and processes work better than they already do.

I’m currently open to speaking engagements.

About Me

I have over 7 years of experience working in the BPO then fintech industry as an authority on intrapreneurship, striking strategic partnerships and operational efficiency at companies like Paystack, PawaPay and Kuda Bank.

Until August 2021, I worked as Launch Lead for West Africa at PawaPay where I spearheaded the company’s launch efforts on the continent. I took a year off to get a Masters in Business Administration (specializing in Strategy) at IE Business School, graduating in July 2022 with Beta Gamma Sigma honors - reserved for top performing students around the world.

With my background as a certified project manager and a knack for strategic business operations, I successfully initiated and closed a Mastercard issuing partnership for Nigeria’s first full-service digital bank, Kuda Bank, in my role as Business Operations Manager. Prior to working at Kuda Bank, I held several roles at Paystack where I notably established processes that saved the company millions otherwise lost to fraud and false chargeback claims.

Prior to working at Paystack I co-founded, scaled and successfully exited Independent PA, a boutique virtual assistant agency that provided support to C- level executives at companies such as Andela and Flutterwave.

I’m currently based in London and work as the Enterprise Sales Enablement Manager at Flutterwave.

When I’m not working, I enjoy

speaking.

I speak about how tech makes solving large-scale problems in Africa easier. I also enjoy speaking about the fintech industry in SSA, the importance of non-tech roles at tech companies and women at work. Please reach out for more

travelling.

While I have a fear of flying, flying is almost always a small price to pay to discover new places, culture and go on adventures. So far: Ghana, Mauritius, Kenya and Cote d’Ivoire, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Malta.

taking care of myself.

This looks like using clean skincare products as much as I can, swapping single-use items I use in my daily life to reusables, sleeping 7-8 hours, introspection, spending time with loved ones and taking care of my mind.
